Design for the conditions people actually face

We investigate the user journey before committing to the full build. Prototypes help test navigation, content and important tasks with the people who will use the service. Accessibility and clear error handling belong in that work from the start.

Where offline use matters, we define what is available without a connection, where information is stored and what happens when the device reconnects. Synchronisation needs explicit rules for failed uploads, duplicate changes and information that has become out of date.

The agreed scope also covers authentication, permissions, APIs and any connection to existing business systems. We discuss how sensitive information is handled on the device and who owns the backend the app relies on.

Mobile delivery grounded in relevant experience

For Bridges Self-Management, we developed mobile and web applications supporting people with long-term health conditions. The mobile apps used React Native, with custom modules for downloading, storing and playing content when internet access was limited.

For Lupin Systems, we built a tablet application that allows auditors to record hazardous-material findings on site. Data synchronises when connectivity becomes available, connecting fieldwork with the web application used by facilities managers.

What happens between prototype and release?

We build and review working versions in stages, test agreed devices and user journeys, and prepare the release with your team. Store accounts, signing credentials, privacy information and ongoing ownership need to be agreed alongside the development work. Submission and review by an app store are separate from completing the application.

Can you improve an existing app?

We can assess its code, dependencies, backend and release process before recommending changes. An existing application may need targeted fixes or a platform upgrade; a rebuild needs its own justification.
